Contents

Vincente Fox

Vincente Fox was born 2 Jul 1942 in Mexico City as the second of nine children, to Jose Luis Fox-Pont by his wife Mercedes Quesada-Etxaide. (Children in Mexico often or typically take both parents names as a double surname which I've here hyphenated for clarity only.)

Jose Luis Fox-Pont was son of Joseph "Jose" L Fox and Elena Pont, both citizens of the United States, as specified on the 1912 birth certificate of Vincente's father when he was born in Irapuato.

Not many knew it until recently, but Fox’s grandfather, Joseph Fox, of German descent, grew up in Cincinnati, went to school and worked here before moving to Mexico in 1897."

Beginning at age 16, he worked at the Emerson & Fisher Carriage Co., then at the corner of Findlay and John streets in the West End. Fox worked his way up in the company from office boy to sales.
