Born 27 Oct 1894 at Mammoth Springs, Fulton County, Arkansas to Franklin Napoleon "Frank" Ivie of Trigg County, Kentucky and Matilda Session Tompkins of Tennessee.

Married Rena Florence Fowler, who survived him.

Died 9 Jun 1952 at Cherryville, Crawford County, Missouri where he was a resident.  He died from starvation while on a self-imposed fast due to his religious beliefs or convictions.  Burial at Davisville Cemetery, Davisville, Missouri.
