"Hollywood Beauty : Be Food Wise to Get Pound Perfect", by Lydia Lane

Hollywood, Dec 31 &mdash; Elizabeth Montgomery grew up in Hollywood when her father Robert Montgomery was making pictures here.  Then she moved to New York for that was the center of TV and now, as the wife of actor Gig Young, Hollywood is her home again.

"The one thing I miss on the coast," she told me, as we chatted on the "Riverboat" set at NBC, "is walking.  Everything is so scattered here, I have to take my car and I can't keep in good shape without exercise.  Now, instead of walking, I do exercises at home.

"I have been amazed how many teen-agers are careless about their figures.  I see them in shorts with overdeveloped thighs and pot tummies and wonder why they are so careless.

"You have to look ahead," Elizabeth declared. "I know I do. I believe there's a lot of wisdom packed <span class="plainlinks">[http://bit.ly/p3weUn <span style="color:black;font-weight:normal;text-decoration:none!important;background:none!important; text-decoration:none;">african mango diet</span>]</span> in the old adage, 'A stitch in time saves nine.' Clothes can be wonderfully concealing but you have to know the truth about your figure. It is what you see today that the world will see tomorrow.

"When I was 16 or 17, I had a tendency to be heavy.  I knew my sweet tooth was making me fat.  I realized that if I didn't change my eating habits, I would be faced with constant dieting later on; this would not be good for my body or my disposition so I decided to work on my bad habits.

"For a diet to be a success, it has to be your idea, not your family's.  It is better to be fat with good health than thin and sick, and for that reason I'm against crash diets and reducing pills," Elizabeth concluded.
