'''Hubert van Hook''' (1896-) Born in 1896, the son of Dr Weller van Hook, a surgeon in Chicago, and the General Secretary of the Theosophical Society in the United States. Hubert was selected by Leadbetter as the vehicle for the coming World Teacher. Leadbetter later discovered Krishnamurti. This "discovery" created a bit of a problem over the conflicting claims. Hubert's mother left his father and brought Hubert to India for special training.
