Norma Jean married first on 19 Jun 1942 to James Dougherty (he has recently died). Before his death, James wrote a book about his marriage to Marilyn Monroe. They moved to Catalina Island where they are living in 1944 and where "Jimmie" is training for the merchant marine. While James was away fighting in World War II, Marilyn took a job working at the Radioplane factory, and moved in with his parents. It was at this job where she was first commercially photographed for an article in YANK article. | Norma Jean married first on 19 Jun 1942 to James Dougherty (he has recently died).
