Anna (Hunger) Snodgrass

Anna Friedericke Hunger, born in May 1, 1863 in Burlington, Des Moines County, Iowa to Hermann Hunger (1833-1908) and his wife Anna Krallmand (1835-1900). Anna died in Burlington, but Hermann moved to California and died in Anaheim.

Moved to Los Angeles about 1908/9, where she died in Apr 1951, and was buried at Inglewood Park Cemetery there.

  • 1880 Census of Burlington, Des Moines County, Iowa showing "Herman Hunger, 48, Prussia; Fredricke, 45, wife, Prussia; Anna F 17, daughter, b Iowa; Amilia 13, daughter, b Iowa; Emma T 10, daughter, b Iowa; Augusta 8, daughter, b Iowa; Charles 6, son, b Iowa; Oscar 2, son b Iowa"
  • An Ancestry World Tree entry stating "Anna Emilie Hunger, born in Iowa to Hermann Hunger and Anna Krallmand, married an unknown Mr Snodgrass" which incorrectly assigns her sister as the one who married a Mr Snodgrass.
  • California Death Index stating "Anna Snodgrass, born 1 Mar 1863 Iowa, died 24 Apr 1951 Los Angeles County. Father's name Hunger, mother's name Kralaman."
  • Obituary, Los Angeles Times, Apr 27, 1951 stating "Mrs Anna Snodgrass, age 88, a resident of Los Angeles for 42 years...interment in Inglewood Park. A native of Iowa...died Tuesday....two sisters, Mrs Amelia Carey and Mrs Emma Hunger." which incorrectly identified Emma as a "Mrs" see [1]
