Ben Patrick Johnson was born 30 Jun 1969 in Tucson, Arizona, the son of Charles Johnson.  At some point he moved to St Paul, Minnesota "He went to the University of Minnesota for awhile, but started working full-time at [http://en.wikipedia.com/wiki/KSTP_(AM) KSTP-AM] as the production director. "Johnson's first national exposure came in 1994 when he was chosen as co-host for ''Extra'', an entertainment-magazine show. Extra demoted Johnson to on-air correspondent shortly after he came out as homosexual in the gay press..." (''Ben Patrick Johnson'', Wikipedia). He wrote a book ''In and Out in Hollywood'' about this experience, which you can see [http://bpjclients.com/inandoutinhollywood/index.html here].  His book published by Palari Books, appears on their website [http://www.palaribooks.com/details.asp?id=1 here].  The book has been lightly fictionalized but appears to be fairly-well based on his own personal experience with Extra.

*[http://sniggle.net/Experiment/index.php?entry=20Apr07&showyear=2007 "The Picket Line"], 20 April 2007, Friday link dump: "Ben Patrick Johnson covers war tax resistance by way of his own tax resisting parents at the BPJ Video Blog. He interviews his dad, Charles Johnson, about his resistance: the hows and whys and what-happened-nexts. I had no idea video blogs were this polished. It looks like some sort of cable news segment."
