Bogus Gateways, "alleged gateway [ancestors] for whom there was a reasonably well publicized claim to medieval ancestry which has since either been definitively disproved, or more commonly shown to be based only on a guess (usually of the name's-the-same variety) unwarranted by available evidence." — Nat Taylor
