Northwest Arkansas Times Fayetteville, Arkansas September 30, 1877 Man Dies in Freak Accident Prairie Grove: CECIL WRIGHT, 67, of Prairie Grove, was killed Thursday about 5 p.m. when he was struck by a city on Hwy. 37 inside the city limits, State Police said. Police said the fatality occurred after WRIGHT’S pickup truck stalled beside the road. Wright’s nephew, BILLY W. CUNNINGHAM, also of Prairie Grove, stopped to assist and parked his station wagon behind the pickup. As the two men worked on the pickup, police said, a 1 ½ year old child in the station wagon put the vehicle in gear and it rolled into the rear of the truck. Cunningham backed the station wagon up and got out. As Wright walked between the two vehicles to inspect damage, the child again put the car in motion, crushing Wright between the two vehicles. Wright was pronounced dead on arrival at Washington Regional Medical Center. Born May 5, 1910 at Rhea, Wright was a butcher and the son of ROBERT LEE and DORA BELL HUCKABY WRIGHT. Survivors include five brothers: LEO WRIGHT of Fayetteville, LOY WRIGHT of Tule Lake, California, VIRGIL WRIGHT of Antioch, California, and KENNETH WRIGHT of Jal, New Mexico; and four sisters, Mrs. ETHA LUTHER of Siloam Springs, Mrs. REBA EDWARDS of Farmington, Mrs. HAZEL BOND of Natural Dam and Mrs. DAISY CUNNINGHAM of Prairie Grove.
