By 1892, the family had moved to Arkadelphia, [[Clark County, Arkansas|Clark County]], [[Arkansas]] except perhaps Sarah who apparently stayed in Tennessee.  In Arkadelphia, according to an article on his brother Charley in the book ''Clark County Past and Present'' he "...played cornet in Dwight Blake's band and in 1916 became director of the Arkadelphia Band.  He married an Okolona girl and taught music and tuned pianos in that town until his death."  His brother Charles was a painter.
