Friend of the Duchess of Kent To Marry British Engineer

A young British engineer employed by a London firm is shortly to marry a beautiful Yugoslav friend of the Duchess of Kent. He is Mr Geoffrey Farrer Kennedy, aged 29, of Bramley, near Guildford Surrey, and his fiancee is Mlle Daska Ivanovic Banaz, a 23-year-old step-daughter of M Bozo Banaz, a wealthy shipowner. Mlle Banaz knew the Duchess of Kent when she was Princess Marina.

Last August the Duke and Duchess of Kent cruised off the Dalmatian Coast in M Banaz's yacht Tiha. M Banaz is head of the Yugoslavian-Lloyd Shipping Line, and his villa at Cavtat is one of the most beautiful on the Dalmatian coast.

His stepson M Ivan Ivanovic, was educated at Westminster and Cambridge, where he obtained a blue for athletics.

The Tiha, which was modernized throughout by M Banaz, formerly belonged to Lord Beatty.
