George married an unknown first wife by 1854 and had two children [[Alice Tackett (1854-1934)|Alice]] and Marcus. This first wife is not listed with him and his children in the 1860 Federal Census. He married again in 1861. In the Phillips County Court House at Helena AR are these two deeds, proving the relationship of [[Mount Etna Tacket]] to George L Tackett: *12 April 1855 - M.E.Tackett to G.L.Tackett "to my brother and his wife", 150 acres, for love and affection and $50. He also enters 160 acres at NE S32-T6S-R2W, again by Cash Entry. However on this document he calls himself "George L Tackett of Arkansas County". These two pieces touch each other, forming a rectangle. *As "Edmond P G Tackitt of Phillips County", his nephew, entered 160 acres by Cash Entry, at SE S28-T6S-R2W. This document is marked Cancelled and has other writing across it that I can't make out. This land touches George's at the Southwest corner. You can see how the lands of George L Tackett, Mount Etna Tacket and Edmond P G Tackett intersect [http://www.countyhistorian.com/picture_library/Tackett.JPG here]. Many years after George's death, his three surviving children file a lawsuit against E P G Tackett, et al claiming mismanagement of the estate. E P G Tacket had been the administrator. The lawsuit dragged on for several years, and contains several depositions. In one of these, a Emily Honeywell, age 41 at 11 Nov 1884, states that "George was my uncle". In 1880 Emma Honeywell is living, as a widow in Arkansas County, and in 1860 "Emly Tackett" age 20, born AR is living in the household of "E M Tackett" at De Witt.
