'''General Jesse Miller''' (1803-1891) Jesse Miller was born 7 Jan 1803 in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee to Simon Miller and Elizabeth Reade. He married between 1823 and 1825 to an unknown woman and had an unknown female child who was living with him in the 1840 census. He married Amanda Whitson 27 Sep 1836 in Whitsontown, Crawford County, Arkansas. She was born abt 1821 in Williamson County, Tennessee, the eldest daughter of Major William F Whitson Jr and Harriet Witherspoon. They had five children. In 1838 Jesse Miller was the first Sheriff of Franklin County. About 1842, he was the administrator of the Simon Miller estate in Franklin County. He was also a member of the House of Representatives this year. She died 1873 probably at Mulberry, Franklin County, Arkansas where they were enumerated in the 1870 census. In 1889 his biography appeared in the Goodspeed's History of Northwest Arkansas. Jesse Miller died 25 Oct 1891 probably at Maxey Township, Franklin County, Arkansas.
