Marilyn Monroe

Although she was to take the stage-name "Marilyn Monroe", she did not legally change her name to "Marilyn Monroe" until much later, while in New York.  Marilyn died in her home in Brentwood, Los Angeles August 5, 1962 of an apparent drug overdose.
