AFN: 3TM0-T3 Born 6 Jul 1826 at Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana to Simeon Briggs and Katherine Garnet. Her parent's names come from the Family Data Collection (see below), but are also repeated in the Ancestral File. This same complete grouping, her, spouse, her parents, repeats in the Sealings for the Dead 1965-1970 in the IGI, so someone submit it at least that early.
She married Lewis Trout (b 1827) on 23 Jan 1846 in Hocking County, Ohio. By Aug 1855 they are living in Henry County, Iowa (their daughter Catherine's death certificate states that she was born in Aug 1855 in Henry County, Iowa). By Dec 1863, they had moved to Coles, Coles County, Illinois, where their daughter Hannah was born.
She is enumerated on the 1880 census with her husband and children in North Fork, Barton County, Missouri. She is on the 1900 census in North Fork, now as a widow, living with her unmarried son William. Her parents birthstates are there listed as Massachusetts for father and Pennsylvania for mother.
The death Certificate extract for Catherine (Trout) Evans names her parents as Louis Trout and Mary Briggs, and that Catherine was born 13 Aug 1855 in Henry County, Iowa.
In the 1880 census, on the page just prior to the one that Catherine (Trout) Evans appears on with her husband and child, is a family with parents Lewis Trout 53 b Ohio and his wife Mary 53 b Indiana.
Two other of Mary's children, Hannah who appears here in the Family Data Collection, and Lewis again verify that her name was "Mary Miller Briggs", and add that Hannah was born 1 Dec 1863 at Coles, Coles County, Illinois.
