Robert Barker, was born the son of Christoper Barker, printer to Queen Elizabeth. Robert married first to Rachel Day daughter of William Day, then prevost of Eaton and dean of Windsor but later Bishop of Winchester for the last year of his life. Robert and Rachel were married probably shortly before 1590 as their eldest known child was baptised in Jun of that year. They had twelve children known, but not all of these survived infancy. Their twelve children were all baptised at Datchet, co Buck (Batch C073232 wj): #Rachel 7 Jun 1590 #Elizabeth 14 May 1592 #Christopher 8 Jan 1593/4 #Robert 4 Jul 1596 #William 5 Apr 1598 #George 22 Apr 1599 #Charles 1 Oct 1600 #Francis 1601/1603 #Agatha 1 Aug 1602 #Matthew 11 Oct 1604 #Mary 26 May 1606 #Susanna 11 Jan 1607/8 Rachel died in 1608, perhaps in childbed of Susanna. Robert married secondly, probably toward the middle of that year to Anne Wood widow of Nicholas Cage, and daughter of Tobias Wood. Robert and Anne had four known children, all baptised at Datchet, co Buck (Batch C073232 wj): #Anne 13 Mar 1609 #Andrew 7 Mar 1615 #Rachel 13 May 1618 #Martha 31 Oct 1620 Robert was of Southley, co Buck; esq and also printer to King James
