Sarah Margaret Ferguson, Duchess of York, born 15 Oct 1959 in London

Sarah is the ex-wife of Andrew Windsor, Duke of York, Prince Charles' younger brother, both the sons of Elizabeth II, Queen of England. She was also the spokesperson for Weight Watchers.

Sarah Margaret Ferguson

Sarah Margaret Ferguson was born 15 Oct 1959 in London, the second child of Ronald Ivor Ferguson by his first wife Susan Mary Wright. In 1974 her parents divorced. Her mother Susan married Hector Barrantes and moved to Argentina, while her father married Susan Deptford. Sarah and her sister stayed in England.

sarah_ferguson.jpgSarah married on 23 Jul 1986 at Westminster Abbey to Prince Andrew Windsor, Duke of York (second son of Queen Elizabeth), thereby becoming Duchess of York that year. Andrew and Sarah had two children: Beatrice in 1988 and Eugenie in 1990. She and Andrew seperated in 1992 and divorced in 1996 (see also "Sarah Margaret Ferguson" on Genealogics; and "Sarah, Duchess of York" on Wikipedia).


Sarah subsequently took up a career writing children's books, being spokesperson for Weight Watchers, and doing public speaking.

Major Ronald Ivor Ferguson

Major Ronald Ivor Ferguson was born 1931 in London. He married firstly on 17 Jan 1956 at Westminster to Susan Wright and they had two daughters. In 1974 this married ended in divorce, and he married secondly Susan Deptford. They had three children. Susan Mary Wright

She married firstly on 17 Jan 1956 at Westminster to Major Ronald Ferguson and they had two daughters. In 1974 they divorced and she in 1975, married secondly to Hector Barrantes, a professional polo player. Susan moved to Argentina with Hector, her two daughters stayed in England. Hector died in Argentina in 1990 of cancer, and Susan died 19 Sep 1998 there in an auto accident (see further "Susan Barrantes" on Wikipedia, and "Susan Mary Wright" on Genealogics)
