==Lou Birchie Ayers==
Lou Birchie Ayers was born in Mississippi, the child of parents who had moved there from their native Georgia.  This much is clear from the 1910 and 1920 census.  However, whether she was born 9 Feb 1883, whether her parents were Simpson and Hattie is unclear.  In the 1910 census she is 19, in the 1920 census she is 27, and in the 1930 she is 39.  This would normally tell us she must have been born between about 1890 and 1893.  So the idea that she was born 9 Feb 1883 as Findagrave indicates is suspect.  If indeed her tombstone states 1883, then it's possible that her children enacted a pious fraud because they did not want the public to know she had married at age 13.

She married William Jefferson Blythe about 1906. They later lived in or around the town of Sherman in Grayson County, Texas. An article in the ''Washington Post'' states that the Texas Blythe's say they moved to Sherman from Tippah County in 1909.  If true, then he must have married Lou in Mississippi.
