On 17 October 1832 William White "appeared before the Justices of the County Court of Lincoln County Tennessee" where he was a resident and under oath made a "declaration in order to attain the benefit of a provision made by act of Congress passed June 7, 1832" to provide pensions for Revolutionary Service. (His petition is in the National Archives # S1735).

Stokes County was [http://www.mynorthcarolinagenealogy.com/nc_maps/nc_cf.htm formed] in 1789 from Surrey County.  None of the boundaries of Stokes, Surrey or Rowan changed from here until 1822 when Davidson County was carved out of Rowan.

Ginny Keefer informs me that: "If you look at 1820 census LCT you will see Jonas Leatherman, Daniel Zimmerman,  and many others from Reedy Creek area very near William White who all lived in LCT as early as William White. Including Britain and Kelin Felps/Phelps who were close neighbors to William White in LCT and all on 1820 census first time. "
