Born in Fauquier County, Virginia on Jan 10, 1755.

On 17 October 1832 William White "appeared before the Justices of the County Court of Lincoln County Tennessee" where he was a resident and under oath made a "declaration in order to attain the benefit of a provision made by act of Congress passed June 7, 1832" to provide pensions for Revolutionary Service. (His petition is in the National Archives # S1735).

In his application he states:
I was born in Fauquier County, Virginia on the 10th day of January, 1755. I have a record of my age now in my possession. I lived there when I entered service. After the Reolutionary War, I moved to Rowan County , North Carolina, where I lived about 30 years, then came to this county where I now live.

In 1790, there is a William White living in Rowan County, North Carolina as well as a William White living in Stokes County, North Carolina.

In 1810 I do not find a William White in Rowan County, but still find a William White in Stokes County, North Carolina. Transcribed at Rootsweb. Transcribed:

Stokes County was formed in 1789 from Surrey County. None of the boundaries of Stokes, Surrey or Rowan changed from here until 1822 when Davidson County was carved out of Rowan.

Deed Book 22, page 666. 26 Feb 1812. Mortgage. John P. Metaur, planter to Charles F. Bagge of Stokes Co NC for $280.00, three tracts. [1] 26 acres on West side of Reedy Creek adj. John Waven/Weaver, Georgee Waver, Hesley, Helsby Beard, William White and John Ledford now Jonas Leatherman [3] was a conveyance from sd Ledford to Jonas Leatherman on 1 Nov 1799. Wit; Mack Crum p. Ack at Feb Ct 1813.

Ginny Keefer informs me that: "If you look at 1820 census LCT you will see Jonas Leatherman, Daniel Zimmerman, and many others from Reedy Creek area very near William White who all lived in LCT as early as William White. Including Britain and Kelin Felps/Phelps who were close neighbors to William White in LCT and all on 1820 census first time. "
