The Magnificent Ambersons (1942) family life drama, written and directed by Orson Welles
produced by Mercury (an Orson Welles vehicle) for RKO Pictures
starring Joseph Cotten, Dolores Costello, Anne Baxter, Tim Holt, Agnes Moorehead, Ray Collins
(Check out Agnes Moorehead as "Aunt Fannie".)
Two decades in the life of the wealthy Ambersons, whose estate is dimensioned by time.
Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, Part 7, Part 8, Part 9
Orson Welles, left the film incomplete, while he went to South America. RKO assigned the completion of the final cut to Robert Wise, who trimmed the 130 minute film, down to the required 90 minutes for commercial release. Part 9 is amazing where Agnes Moorehead gets hysterical.
