A special thank-you to ClassicalGals who shares my interest in Classic studio pics, and who tonight has provided us with:
A special thank-you to GoblinXXX who has so thoughtfully collated weeks of "midnight movie" viewing on a YouTube playlists channel, and the first one I'll show is:
  • The Food of the Gods (1976) horror added 21 Aug 09 screenplay, produced and directed by Bert I Gordon
    • loosely-based on a novel by H.G. Well's of the same name
    • starring Marjoe Gortner, Pamela Franklin, Ralph Meeker, Jon Cypher, Ida Lupino
    • People have been polluting the Earth for too long and now it's time for revenge.  A hick farmer and his wife find a bubbling pool of polluted muck and decide to mix it into their chicken feed.  (I'm not making this up I swear!)  Well the animals start to grow huge and all hell breaks loose.  It's a little dated but still watchable, riding the thin edge between good entertainment and bad B-movie.
    • Trivia: You remember Ida Lupino from the "Twilight Zone" episode "The Sixteen-Millimeter Shrine"

    • At first it looks like a Mad Max on Planet X, but it also has pretty decent sets and creatures, with some eye candy as well.  Imaginative.
